What We Do
Dodnaze Community Centre is dedicated to offering engaging, fun, and educational activities for people of all ages, with a strong emphasis on promoting well-being. The centre provides warm spaces, meals, and crucial support to those facing financial difficulties, helping to ease hardship within the community. Alongside these efforts, Dodnaze is passionate about environmental sustainability, working to raise awareness, foster a deeper connection with nature, and enhance local wildlife.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bring the community back together, to get local people out on the streets talking to each other again and getting together to make amazing and wonderful things happen. Pre-covid and in the earlier years of the 2000’s the centre held many fantastic activities for all ages; including youth clubs, art clubs, technology courses, skills workshops, toddler clubs and movement classes to the over 40’s to encourage healthy and active bodies and minds. We are in the stages of getting these bustling activities up and running again! We are very hopeful for the future and excited to once again make a positive impact on our community and surrounding areas.
Our Vision
Our mission has always been to reconnect the community, bringing local people together to engage, collaborate, and create meaningful change. Before the pandemic, and throughout the early 2000s, our centre was a vibrant hub of activity, offering youth clubs, art classes, technology courses, skills workshops, toddler groups, and movement classes for those over 40, all aimed at fostering healthy, active bodies and minds.
Since reopening with this vision, we are proud to have introduced a range of new initiatives and revived some old favourites. We now offer a welcoming playgroup, a free warm space craft group, and a co-working space where people can gather, stay warm, and connect. We've also launched a Kids Forest School during school holidays, providing outdoor fun and learning. Additionally, we've set up food bag distributions to support local families in need.
We're excited about the future and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on our community and the surrounding areas. Together, we’re rebuilding stronger connections and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.
